Until one day, Bo goes missing! You play as Ayo, your not-so-average clown, in search of his best friend and beloved dog who has mysteriously disappeared. Nope, only players who can't see through the smoke and mirrors. With Ayo the Clown, we’d like to reintroduce you to the incredibly fun side scrolling platformer games of the ‘90s where fun platforming meets an inspiring and memorable story. >That whole part usually generates a strong reaction out of any player That whole part usually generates a strong reaction out of any player I dont know why you're asking for a rushed ending, the pathos was better that way. But considering how conveniently everything worked out for Shulk and Fiorun in XC1, I knew it wouldn't go that route. Now if Hikari STAYED dead, I totally would've been able to get into that scene.

I can, at most, see it as an attempt to emotionally manipulate me into feeling sad and shit, but I just can't get into it. So this whole long-ass cutscene is meaningless to me. What my issue is, is that I, as the player, KNOW it's going to work out before. That's somewhat iffy, but Hikari isn't exactly a normal blade. >when most blades come back to life via their core? They way it goes about is a slap in the face though.

I also don't think XC2 needed a tragic or bittersweet end, a happy end is fine for XC2. Some people think that fundamentally, every story needs a happy end. >It's an ending after all anon, there's no reason for it to be so sad when so many people died to achieve that finale. THE PLAYER KNOWS THAT WORKS IF HE PAYED ATTENTION.īoom, no fucking melodrama, Rex flees with the rest, resummons her, no fucking problem. Taking a 30 minute shit is important for me, but if another person asks me, I'll shorten it to "I took a shit" and move on in the conversation.Ī way to handle this properly? Give a short flashback to chapter 6 or so where Homura threatens to kill herself, when Metsu explains the core swap shenanigans, then have her answer "YES, I'LL BE BACK". I reiterate, maybe it's important for Rex, but it isn't for me as the player. >the characters had no idea they'd get revived as separate beings again Hope she gets an outfit that shows of her fat ass.ĭo I have enough time to play Torna before XC3 releases? I can only really play on weekends. I liked Nia a lot and thought Melia was a fucking laughable joke of a loser, so I'm obligated to cheer for Mio. Just wish Homura wasn't so boring and had a better outfit OR Hikari just outright replaced her in every scene.Īnyway, I'm on team Mio for XC3 I guess. I also don't get how they split up after getting reactivated, but I don't really care anyway, they're 'just built differently' as said by Metsu.īut the things it does well make up for it, I like the score, the actual gameplay is more fun than XC1 once you get enough buttons to press and once the story gets rolling, it's quite engaging, cringe anime lightspeed fights be damned. There's a perfect explanation for that, so reviving her isn't a problem, but making a 15 minute cutscene of how bad Hana and Rex feel about it IS a problem. And then there's wasting 15 minutes of my time with an utterly vapid goodbye scene in the ending, only to revive Hikara anyway. The worst thing is the localization, they just fucking changed things randomly and censored some scenes. There's a few bad things about it, mostly luck based gacha impeding progressing and the general pacing of it past the intro, but before the endgame. Overall it's a 8/10, having a strong end run means I round up.
